morning traffic report

I really don't understand why the radio traffic reporters seem so surprised by the traffic at Culver or the slowing on the 55N, or the 405 moving "at a snail's pace" every morning.  Is it really that surprising when you announce it every single morning?  It is at the very least entertaining listening to the shock and surprise that a regular and consistent slowing brings to the traffic reporter though.

Who needs talk radio when your local traffic reporter is so enthusiastic and entertaining!

  1. My question then becomes why do you listen to the traffic report every morning if you already know what they are going to say? Listen to Sufjan Stevens, he is your kind of guy. Not that I have any idea what that even begins to look like....

  2. I now have about a 6-8 minute commute to work; not really enough time to search through radio stations so i just listen to what is on and it just happens to be the time that the traffic report is on. I know sufjan, but he is more of a night time serenade verses the morning commute--at least to me. any other suggestions?

  3. Electric Six?

Figured you want something more upbeat since it is the morning. Looking past Danger! High Voltage and Gay bar they actually have some other catchy tunes.

Others I would enjoy in the morning:
    Beirut
    Boy least likely to
    cake
    frightened rabbit
    LCD soundsystem

    That should do for now
